Our Recruitment Process

Application requirements (In order to have your application considered)

In order to be considered for the position, you must submit a full application by the detailed close date of the job posting. A full application will consist of:

  • A fully completed eApplication with education, employment history, and references all answered.
  • An attached resume.
  • A cover letter (to be included in adjunct positions).
  • Unofficial transcript(s) (to be included in adjunct positions).

When can you expect to hear back?

For job postings with close dates, applications will be reviewed by a screening committee after close. Our recruiting team will then reach out to candidates to schedule interviews with the hiring committee. On average, this process can take up to two weeks after a job posting closes. You’re more than welcome to reach out to us at careers@polk.edu for an update, but we ask that you wait until after the close date of the posting to follow up. It gives us a better chance of having reviewed the applications.

What is the interview process like?

The majority of our positions follow this format:

  • First round meeting with the screening committee (30 minutes).
  • Second round with the hiring manager (30 minutes).

The length of the interview will be confirmed during scheduling. If any additional tasks are required, the duration will be extended so you’ll have enough time for questions.
